What is JavaScript?
JavaScript is the programming language of the web, allowing for scriptable web pages, and is one of three pillars of web development, along with HTML and CSS. JavaScript has no relationship to Java, other than appropriating the Java name to gain popularity. JavaScript was developed at Netscape by Brendan Eich.
